Ritratto Thoedor Von Wundt

Theodor Von Wundt (1858 – 1929)

A German photographer, mountaineer and writer, Theodor Von Wundt frequented the Dolomites since 1887. Accompanied by the guides Bettega and Zagonel, Theodor participated in several first ascents in the Pale di San Martino – among the most important ones is that to Cimon della Pala – documenting peaks and walls with his photographic equipment. Wundt’s black-and-white images and writings were collected by him in the volume Die besteigung des Cimon della Pala published in 1892, an extraordinary heritage of the history of these mountains.
